Post-Talaiotic period (550-250 cal BC) (society)

LThe economic solidarity of the Talaiotic period was replaced by an organisation based on private family property, with a dominant section of the community which extolled principles of aggression incarnated in the figures of bulls and naked armed men.

Throughout the 5th, 4th and 3rd centuries, the Mediterranean went through a period of conflict which ended with the consolidation of Roman hegemony. The inhabitants of the Balearics participated in various campaigns enlisted as mercenaries: the notorious “Balearic Slingers”.
