The whole Talaiotic community participated in the construction of public works and also used Talaiots in a communal manner as centres for redistribution and consumption of meat, especially pork and beef, which came from animals which all domestic units helped to rear. The political decisions and ritual activities do not appear to have been the prerogative of a leader or chief.
